Founding IRSP member Jim Daly argues in his presentation at the RSYM Winter School that Green and Orange are incompatible, and that the traditional failure of Republican leaderships left and right to recognize this is part of the reason for the present debacle. Jim argues that only Republican socialist leaders such as Connolly and Costello were free of the illusion of their compatibility.

It strikes me as odd that an essay as important and well written as this has recieved so little attention from the membership of this forum.

well for me . to admit that orange and green are incompatable is like saying there will never be a united ireland.
i think , in a small way this year r mc c at the ard fheis has show s that orange and green can have simular goals.
sinn fein are showing that orange and green can live together in a united ireland.

We must win over a section of the protestant people to our struggle for a 32 county workers republic, but to think that loyalists are going to be apeased into a united Ireland, capitalist or not is madness.

Its all well and good for PSF to be appeasing the DUP voter and claiming to be advocating a unification or Orange and Green, but what they have actually done is handed the DUP voter what they wanted all along, security in the union. Orange and Green can live together as long as the Loyalists get what they want it seems.

Did you read the article. It argues that we brake the connection first to then unite catolic protestant and disenter. Thats been tried for the last 80 yrs there was no onus on building up protestant support and it failed. time to try it the other way. unite the people, as a means use that to brake the connection.
