Loose Talk Costs Lives

Just in case Republicans on this site think they can email or post or telephone their views or opinions in private, I'm attaching below the text of an advert seeking to recruit for MI5.

Closing Date: 07 Apr 2008

Role:

This is a front line intelligence role, helping to uphold national security. You will be part of a team that provides coverage of legally intercepted material, extracting key information and communicating it to the relevant intelligence officer. Expect to have your concentration put to the test – the investigations on which you are working may feature periods of high pressure followed by inactivity. Please note that the role involves working 12 hour day and night shifts on a 4 days on 4 days off work pattern (including weekends and public holidays).

You will work in a team sharing your insight and knowledge to support specific investigations. Relevant training will take place in Northern Ireland and London.

There are no special qualifications or experience needed to be considered for this role, as we test your listening and writing skills at the beginning of the selection process. However, you will be expected to have excellent decision making skills and the ability to work both alone and as part of a team. Good judgement, attention to detail and a sound grasp of IT are all essential requirements.

If you have these skills plus a flexible attitude to work, personal integrity, proven reliability, an enquiring and analytical mind and strong motivation to fulfil this role, please consider making an application.

You will also need a current driving licence and you may be subject to a driving assessment if successful.

To be eligible to apply you must meet our residency criteria. You must be a born or naturalized British Citizen and one of your parents must be a British Citizen or have substantial ties to the UK. Candidates must normally have been resident in the UK for 9 out of the last 10 years. This is particularly important if you were born outside of the UK. You will nonetheless be considered if you have, for example, served overseas with HM Forces or in some other official capacity as a representative of Her Majesty’s Government, studied abroad or lived overseas with your parents.

Due to national security reasons, you will need to be 18 years old, or above, to apply. Your application may take around 6 months to process.

Discretion is important to the Service, so please only discuss this application with your partner and/or immediate family.

Completed application forms should be returned to: RV NI ELM Mar 08, TMP Worldwide, Response Management, Lower Ground Floor, Chancery House, 53-64 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1 QS.

What's your point? You are mentioning "security" on every thread, even on those which detail policy documents which are already published and are well in the public domain. Neither the Brits, Branch or the Easter Bunny are going to learn anything new on this site.

Wow, that's some **** money for being a dirty rotten squeeling pig!

well its not really.

considering, as the ad states...

you work 24 hours a day, on a 365 day shift,

meaning that you would only get one day off every four years.:icon_laugh:
