How many SF Councillors have resigned now?
Family reasons? Must have very busy families. :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm:

I wondered that myself, I know there have been a few in Dublin who have left for 'family' reasons.

Well, there is in the region of 250 SF councillors islandwide, and how many have resigned, 3 ? 4 ? - about 2% of total councillors - while all councillors stepping aside is a loss, it's still pretty small scale.

i know one personally who left as a counciler to do another role within the party but was portrayed as leaving due to the PSNI support.

Hes still there but has had to take time out for real family reasons. So i dont think its fair to make a jibe about family reasons. Sometimes its actually genuine.

I'd like to back up what DFCRFB said. All of these hard workers have took up other jobs within the party.

Well what you must understand is that even if a few councillors do leave the party due to whatever reasons necessary, there will be someone eventually to take their place.

A perfect example is down here in Cork, in the past couple of weeks we have a number of new people join the party who in my opinion will eventually become councillors.

Very questionable to say the least. Particularly the former. For that matter how can the latter be a very capable councillor with absolutely no experience or track record to judge her on?

just because some hasn't got a track record doesn't mean there not capable. you really seem to have no faith in youth.

wel think of it this way if they dont get a job because they have no previous experince it limits the feild to pick from and everyone has to start somewhere.

but do i detect a hint of jealous???

Jealous? Not really considering i'm not a member of that movement so I was hardly in the running.

I have all the faith in the world in the younger generation - hardly class Baker as youth - but then obviously you don't know who he is - the difference being that I do.

I have no problem with younger people getting the jobs, indeed I think it is a good thing in general being on the younger side myself.

My contention was not that they are too young. I simply questioned how anyone could class Sam Baker as young, eager and very capable when he isn't.

And also questioned how Charlene O'Hara could be classed as a very capable councillors when she has only just begun the job and has absolutely no record to decide whether she is capable or not.

Common sense really. Try it some time.
