Support the Raytheon 9

The 32 County Sovereignty Movement call for all republicans, socialists, anti imperialists and all other progressives to attend the trial of the Raytheon 9 in Derry. The trial is due to begin on Monday 19th November at 10am and we would urge as many as possible to come out not only in a show of solidarity with the 9 but to protest at Raytheon’s continued presence in Ireland also.
The 32 County Sovereignty Movement fully support the actions of the Raytheon 9 in opposing this purveyor of weapons of mass destruction that have caused so much devastation to communities in Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine.
In opposing this multinational killing machine we do so not alone from a moral and humanitarian position but also from a political one. These nations right to national sovereignty, free from external interference and aggression is being denied and Raytheon are complicit in this denial.
It would be hypocritical for any republican organisation to fail to condemn Raytheon’s presence in Derry considering the fact that Irish sovereignty is being denied by a foreign government who will use force of arms to protect their illegal occupation if necessary.
The 32 County Sovereignty Movement send special solidarity greetings to the four members of our Liam Lynch/Patsy Duffy Cumann in Derry who are members of the Raytheon 9.

Best of luck to these men, they are highly respected republicans within the city and i would like to condemn rayhteons efforts to supply war machines and kill children with their weapons of mass destruction.

I wish the nine all the best on Monday and i hope as many as possible turn up to protest. Just was looking at the photo of the nine being brought into the court house after their arrest, the members of the 32CSM were all in handcuffs while the others were not, is that further discrimination for being republicans?

Can you explain to me exactly how weapons made by raytheon are being used as external interference and agression in Afghanistan? There is a democratically elected President in Afghanistan, who has asked for military assistance from NATO. The only unwelcome external interference and agression there comes from the taliban sneaking across the border. The government of Afghanistan has the right to assert their sovereignty, and to protect their people from gangs of terrorists. Do you really believe it would be better if NATO left Afghanistan and let it descend again into civil war, with the accompanying humanitarian problems.

It's the same situation in Iraq, a democratically elected government, and the Multi National Forces are there with the permission of the parliament and the prime minister. Maybe I'm missing the unwelcome external interference here too?

As for the raytheon plant in Derry. I would assume that the 32CSM would like to see this plant close. Are there any plans to find these people new jobs after they get made redundant?

Care to substantiate that claim? I seem to remember President Bush receiving 52% of the popular vote in the election. He got the majority of the votes cast. Hillary's husband only managed 43% when he was first elected.

The establishment of democratic elections after a war of aggression that violated the principles of democracy (consent of the governed) is an absurd contradiction.
