also opon witnessing first hand do you believe the dpp have the mechanisms to make change a reality and i refer you to a recent statement from sinn fein fermanagh cllr Bernice Swift. i must say i have alot of respect for Bernice she is a very intelligent articulate republican who has done fantastic work for her community and the families of collusion victims and i personally agree 100% with her assesment.

i thought the meeting was ok, for an initial meeting. very boring most of the time.
the protest was dismal, but it was a rotten night so that didn't help.
the main cop Gary White was very smooth and articulate, but also tried to use the Alex Atwood, of "if you keep talking for as long possible, people will for get the question" he was getting stressed by the end. Especially when it was continiously pointed out coming to a meeting in West Belfast and not being able to answer about collusion and Pearse Jordan was no way to gain the confidence of the residents.
he tried to dodge these points, and was not allowed to so, one leading Republican pointed out that he spent 10 minutes talking about street drinkers and 25 seconds(if that) talking about Pearse Jordan.
the Chair of the board made the point of saying that these will be on agenda of every WB DPP meeting until those affected recieve satisifactory answers.,
there were questions around respond times, and general operation matters.
the IRSP asked two questions.
one was about MI5 and would they be arresting people at the behest of them, Gary White stated that they will only be arresting anyone if they are provided with evidence of criminal activity. the questioneer followed up by asking would they be arresting people carrying out political activities at the behest of MI5 and White stated he will only arrest people where there is proof of criminal activity, not for political activities.
the other question centred around the recruitment of young touts and their stated position that this practice would continue. White claimed this is not their stated position, and that they have strict guidelines around handling 'Sources'.

it was made very clear particularly by the last speaker that if they want to gain the confidence of republicans they would have to much better than they did last night, particularly around state murders.
it was also made clear it they think they are are dictate the content and format of the Meeting it aint gonna happen.

Can i see potential for making the cops more accountable through DPP yeah undoubtedly. it was actually in practice last night.

lastly well done to the RSM not only for the protest but also for taking the opportunity to question policing

thanks for that report sounds like copper white was dodging the question around mi5 and arrests the truth as we all know is 'they' veiw all republican activities as criminal and that mi5 do not have the powers of arrest so the peelers would be the ones arresting you in any circumstances they will work hand in glove.

not sure if they will be made accountable in the sense next time the jordan family will be closer to justice it just means next time he will have fancy statistics to ensure the people they are doing all they can to tackle the issues raised.
