Do all members post though? It's the same posters making comment time and time again.

I know a lot of registered users may be undesirable lurkers but I daresay many are legit republicans with a lot to offer the forum. Maybe they feel a bit intimidated when they first log in so it's up to all the regular posters to encourage them to come out of themselves.

very true. it isnt easy logging onto a large forum and wading into the middle of a debate but thats the only way to do it.

Aye, I have to say I was made welcome but I did lurk for a while before posting - afraid that what I said would be ridiculed (even though that was unlikely as I'm always right:) )

Maybe if we notice a new member, we should pm them too and encourage them along. After all, variety is the spice of life!

Every forum has a certain amount of members, whether the forums big or small - not all members are going to post on a Daily Basis. Some may register and never post it all, it's the fact that people have went out of their time to register for the forum makes it big. I can guarantee you that on a forum you will find member with no posts at all, but they still registered and are still counted as a member.. its the way they work ain't it.

There should be a regular cull of inactive members, say annually. That way people can't hog good usernames that are not being put to use.
