“Ógra Shinn Féin has criticised the view that collusion was the work of ‘a few rouge members of the RUC.’ Don’t they know you can’t put lipstick on a pig?”

I know, like yourselves I was falling of the chair after that ingenious burst of comedial wit – NOT!

Although it shows how far reaching the Republican project is, when Unionists like Newton are running around referring to the RUC as pigs.

Imagine describing them as that, disgraceful….. the poor pigs!

emerson would be one of my favorite columnists from the north . As for the blog/rant where some intellectual pygmy from ogra tries to take a swipe at him , its just embarassing . He seems to have a problem with someone from NEs background calling the psni pigs ?
had I a choice between spending the evening in the company of the dreary and tiresome Jude Collins , the pathetic propagandist Jim Gibney or Newton Emerson thered be little competition as to which journalist wouldnt make me want to set fire to myself as an excuse to go home early.

The point emerson is making that the continual repetition of images of martin mcguinness and ian paisley fondling each others genitals in a loving manner accompanied by obligatory oohs and aahs from the media is boke inducing by this stage . Its a media event . The crass hands accross the barricades peace people message thats rammed home with it everytime is cheesy beyond belief . Its the type of thing some 80s euro pop band like Europe could write a theme song for . Its an episode from giv my head peace come to life . Da and uncle andy in governemnt .
