Board Rules

When visiting the forum you are agreeing to abide by the following terms and conditions:


1. The views posted on this forum are those of the individual poster and not of the website owner. The site owner takes no responsibility for any issues arising out of this forum, or for posts made by any user.

2. Members personal information should not be posted either by the user themselves or by other users. Anyone posting personal information about other members will be banned.

3. Racism will not be tolerated. Discussions on Immigration etc are allowed as long as they are conducted in an intelligent manner. Anyone posting racist material or links to racist material will receive one warning. After that they will be banned. Users should not respond to racist threads as they will be deleted as soon as a moderator sees them.

4. Sectarianism has no place in Irish Republicanism therefore posts of a sectarian nature will not be tolerated and will be deleted. This extends to stereotypical comments and under no circumstances will any sectarian, or comments related to any group of people will be tolerated.

5. Links should always be posted in the Links Forum unless relevant to a specific thread on the main board.

6. Private messaging should be used instead of the forum for personal correspondence. Users should always keep in mind that the PM system is no more secure than their email account. Please delete any old messages to ensure the board runs at optimum speed. The moderators have no access to the users PM account and cannot read their messages.

7. "Spamming" is unacceptable and will be deleted by the Moderators. If the spamming persists, the poster in question will be warned about their conduct. They will be banned if it is done again.

8. It is recommended that users hide their email address in their profile page. To do this click on Profile at the top right of the screen Scroll down to the option "Hide Email from public?" Click the box next to it.

9. Messages deemed insulting, inappropriate, counter productive and or single word replies can be deleted at the Admins' discretion without reason or prior warning.

10. Only Registered members can post.

11. Posts or members whom the moderators deem as 'non-constructive' or 'anti-republican' will be removed.

12. Everything else is common sense. Any problems that people have should be posted in the feedback forum or contact a moderator or administrator.

13. NO external links in sigantures.

14. Admin cannot be held responsible for the content of external links from Irishrepublican.net . Users are responsible themselves for the links they wish to naviagate.

15. STRICTLY No Forum Links. (Legal Reasons) That includes spamming by PM.

16. IrishRepublican.Net would like to make it clear when downloading anything from IrishRepublican.Net you do so at your own risk. IrishRepublican.Net bares no responsibility for the file content, accuracy or legal status (which varies between regions) of any such files. Files can be freely uploaded by any user and are not moderated for inappropriate content.

17. The following words are banned from being used. ''Dissidents'', ''Dissenters'', ''Sellouts'' and ''Traitor'' when referring to any political organisation or movement.


18. Threads must be ON TOPIC, relevant to the thread title.


19. No group or person (both posters and non posters) should be referred to as criminals or touts without evidence. The only instance in which it should even be discussed if it has been in the public domain.

Enforcement of Rules
Item 1: Moderators do not personally look at each post. If you see a post that breaks forum rules, REPORT the POST in order for a moderator to become aware of that post.

Rule 10: The forum takes no responsibility for any of the views expressed or the information released by people who join this forum and express opinions or post information.

Personal Attacks

Insults are not allowed and posters who react to disagreement with condescension or rudeness generally are awarded with a speedy ban.

The following are prohibited:

Rule 1: No direct personal attacks (i.e. Person X is an idiot). That means no insults in posts or in private messages.

Rule 2: No indirect personal attacks (i.e. I dislike Person X's idiocy).

Rule 3: No trolling. Trolling is defined as baiting or provoking another poster with rude, disrespectful, or condescending remarks. Trolling also includes posting up comments that de-rail thread topics with nonsense.

Rules on civility, posting quality and moderation
Rule 5: Moderators keep discussions civil, enforce forum rules and are also bound by forum rules. They give their own political opinions, and their opinions are not the opinions of the forum. Moderators maintain the quality of political discussion and therefore moderators are empowered to edit and delete posts as well as to ban posters who they deem as degrading the civil atmosphere of the forum.

Rule 6: Personal aggression, condescension, rudeness, racism, bigotry, are banable offenses. The forum does not tolerate personal drama pushed into political discussions and forum business. Posters who make their own membership an issue for discussion open themselves up to the possibility of a moderator closing their account for them.

Rule 7: No public questioning of individual moderator's fairness are allowed. Any complaints about individual moderators must be reported using the report post feature.


Private Messages

Rule 9: Insults conveyed over private messages are treated the same as insults on the forum. When infractions are awarded, a private message is automatically sent to the offender. Mouthing off to the moderators will result in additional penalties.

Rule Added

Private Messages

We would like to ask all users that if they recieve spam PMs, threats, insults, or any PM's that break the rules to FWD them to a member of the team.

Users will have just 5 minutes to edit their posts.
This is to prevent users from editing their posts AFTER it has been quoted by someome else.
