Fáilte (fal -cha)

Welcome.

We are going to begin putting up beginners irish videos to help anybody learn/use irish. I thought we could start with some funny ones and these are some of my favourites.

SERIOUS BIT
As republicans we all know our langugae was a victim of 800 years of English rule. I believe anytime a person speaks/writes/thinks one word of irish (gaeilge) they are making a statement that that refuse to accept what England has done/is doing to Ireland.

So, please try and use a bit of irish whenever you can. Especially on this forum. Mac_Talla has started a thread about useful Irish phrases. Have a look and try to put them in your posts. The link is below
http://www.irishrepublican.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7852

Don't worry about saying/writng anything perfectly. Just give it a go.

Remember
Is fearr gaeilge briste na bearla cliste (bad Irish is better than good English)

I hope you enjoy the series of videos I will put up on this thread. They were made by two Czech girls and I think they are brilliant. There is Czech in them, but don't worry. I will give you the translations for the irish below the video.

I'll put the next one up in a few days

Bain sult as. (b win sult os) Enjoy
